Welcome to Mrs. Bottum's Groovy First Grade Class
Dear First Grade Families,
Hello, and welcome to a year of tremendous social and academic growth for your child! I'm looking forward to partnering with you as your child gains knowledge and confidence as a learner.
This is my 23rd year as an educator and my 10th year as a teacher in the Kinnikinnick School District. I earned my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Early Education, and an Approval in Early Childhood Special Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1997. In 2018, I earned my Masters Degree in Reading Education from Concordia University, Chicago.
It is my honor to be a member of the Kinnikinnick Family where all students are encouraged and empowered to reach their own potential. I believe that one of the strongest indicators of student success is communication between home and school, so please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, comments, or concerns.
